Salam Alaykum,
A scholar in Malaysia informed the government that the memorials in the country are haram. Yet, the governement asked him to change his findings, but he refused. So what did the government do with this information????
Nothing!
Think about it, memorials are like worshipping the dead. There are engraven images at these memorials, I'm sure.
You would think that an Islamic Government would listen to a scholar, but obviously they are more concerned with being modern. Also, think about this, the PM there as well as the king have commissioned portraits of themselves. These are also haram according to the Quran.
It's bad enough to be Muslim in a Christian-Judeo-Atheist country like the USA, but you would think a Muslim would have it better in an Islamic country.
Obviously this is not so.
What are your thoughts?
